Per USFSA, athletes may elect to receive test credit for “skating up” at sanctioned non-qualifying competitions by meeting minimum scores. Both Excel and well-balanced free skate IJS protocols are eligible for test credit for Singles Free Skate only. Excel Free skate IJS protocols are not eligible for test credit for other events. If an open juvenile free skate event is conducted under the IJS, the scores may be used for test credit for IJS protocol for a juvenile free skate test, assuming all score requirements are met.

Candidates must meet all 3 minimum scores (see below) to receive test credit via IJS Protocol Submission. In addition, the skater must not receive any disqualifying “0 value” elements in their program. (A disqualifying “0 value” element will be noted on the protocol with the symbol “ – – – ” in lieu of a GOE or points awarded.)

Further information can be found on the USFSA website: https://www.usfigureskating.org/system/files/IJSTestCreditProtocol-ChecklistAthletesClubs.pdf

All test prerequisites must be met prior to the competition event. Example: Jane Tester currently skates at the Intermediate level and wants to submit an IJS Protocol in lieu of testing Novice Free Skate. Jane must have passed both her Intermediate Free Skate test and her Novice MITF test prior to the competition event.

Prior to a competition, request that a Test Credit Packet be prepared for the skater. There will be a small charge for the service. Inspect the documents within the packet before leaving the competition, to be sure it is accurate and that all the required signatures are completed.

CCSC members must complete/sign the CCSC Test Credit Form, which must be signed by the skater’s coach. Follow the instructions on the form to send the documents and payment.

Be sure to keep copies of all documents!

FOLLOWING TESTS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR IJS PROTOCOL

Please note that the minimum scores are required on the Free Skate Program, not the short program.

Minimum scores are posted in the format TES + PCS = TSS
